Health Benefits Of Coffee
MASSACHUSETTS—A recent study conducted at the Harvard School of Public Health found additional benefits from consuming coffee, other than getting an energy boost.
The study assessed the link between coffee consumptions and the risk for heart disease, stroke, and prostate cancer.
The team found that the participants who consumed 2 cups (8-ounces) per day had an 11 percent reduced risk of heart failure compared to those who did not consume coffee. In addition, they found those who consumed coffee on a daily basis had a 20 percent lower risk of stroke and a 59 percent reduced risk of prostate cancer.
According to study authors, you should consume between one or two cups (8-ounces) of coffee per day. They also noted that both caffeinated and decaffeinated versions of coffee provide health benefits.
